A lot of questions.
My Special Pearl
I would like to share one of my pearl with you. These might not be grand but they created a special space in my being. It is transforming me day by day.
February 9, 2021, Thursday. The day we ride on a bus going home from the City of Kabankalan. I’ve seen a fascinating view which caught me in awe and I was pausing and my mouth couldn’t stop saying the words, “wow, Lord, wow! It was a vast sea and one boat with a fisherman inside in the middle of the sea. It looked like this …
As I was gazing at this beautiful scene there’s something within my soul that spark, like a dying man, came to life. Then, the Holy Spirit opened my mind to know that it was a Sea of Hope – It was a metaphor for the hope I needed in those moments. I was desperate and hopeless because of the sin I allowed in my life. Things were not getting better and I was running away from God instead of going to Him.
There and then I repented before God and ask Him to help me restore in His presence. And after praying, I felt the healing hands of God in me. He had forgiven me and without hesitation, I received His forgiveness. Then, I felt the greater hope saturating my spirit, soul, and body. And the bonus God made me seen it through His creation; through the vast sea which represents “Hope”, it was unending, limitless, wonderfully amazing.
It also brought me to Genesis 1:10, “And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.” God said the sea He created was good. The Lord made me realized that His goodness brings forgiveness, healing, transformation, and restoration. There I witnessed how the Lord has been so good to me and all of us.
Hope in Action
Yes, what I did was completely wrong that’s why I suffered the consequences of my sin. What sin did to me? It broke me in total darkness and emptiness. But when I repented, the Lord showed up and He uses the sea to let me know, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.” (Isaiah 1:18)
But because the Philippines is not a snow country that doesn’t stop God to used the sea. I will never forget the words I heard in those moments, “You see that sea, that is my faithfulness to you. And that fisherman inside of the floating boat is you. You are floating in the vast of my faithfulness. You have all the access. You just have to use it.”
I have hope. We all have hope. Hope in our situations, hope for tomorrow, hope for the uncertainties, hope to dream again because Jesus Christ is the source of our hope.
