The world is in a hurry until the Pandemic Covid-19 intervenes.
I cannot deny being in a hurry all the time especially when I go to work. In my hurriedness, three times I forget my laptop at home. So I cannot proceed to do my task although I reached the goal of not being late.
By the time when I was starting to read the whole chapter, I prayed. “Lord teach me to do Selah”.
There are three Selahs on Psalm 68. Selah means to Pause. To Pause in His Presence in The Passion Translation. Interlude in New Living Translation.
Why do I need to Pause? He reminded me that when I am in a hurry, I miss out on things.
At work, because my boss needs things right away, I tend to rush the process so I missed out on the details, even the signatory above my name.
How important are the details?
As I flip my journal, on August 10, 2020, during my Power Time, I wrote a prayer “Lord may I be like Noah, careful in obeying what you are commanding.” … So Cara did everything exactly as the Lord had commanded her – in response to Genesis 6:22.
God reminded me that He is in the details. He put orders even in how he created the world. When He instructed Noah to create a boat, it was all detailed and specified.
When I pause, I hear, and when I hear I listen. I can only do that if I Pause in His Presence.
3 things I learned on Psalm 68
Rejoice in His presence
Imagine a person who is happy and yet his/her face looks indisposed.
A young child is thankful yet irritated at some point.
How can it be?
I smile, laugh & sparkle in my eyes can be seen when I am grateful. I do weird steps and sang songs out of the blue. It is me. A person who is upbeat in every little thing. I have this joy inside me and it manifests outside in me. I asked myself why I am limited in worshipping Him? If I can do this, how much more when I am in His presence? How much more when I am rejoicing in His presence?
As I pause in verse 7, I sang loud praises to the Lord. Yes! Louder & louder. I raise my hallelujah to Him, closing my eyes & stretching my hands towards heaven. Woah! Singing His goodness and faithfulness in my life.
Words are not enough to describe How awesome is He.
This is me when I pause. I met God in His presence. How much more on the remaining pages of the Bible? I’m in awe!
Remember His goodness
How the earth trembled when He led His people out from Egypt. He sent abundant rain & provided a bountiful harvest. This is one of the many wonders of the Lord in the past.
When I paused in verse 19, I recalled His awesome miracles. When He turned water into wine (John 2:6-9). He healed and Official’s Son (John 4:49-53). He healed a lame man (John 5:5-6,8-9). He fed the five thousand (John 6:10-11). He walks on the water (John 6:19). He healed the blind man (John 9:6-7). He raises Lazarus from the dead (John 11:43-44).
Would you ask me if I can highlight some of What He did in my life?
He is the God who turned the torch of my 3% battery phone to provide light for me when I was about to go home.
He is the God who instantly healed my right back when I laid my hands on.
He is the God who healed the woman in a panic attack when I started praying, whispering to her ears, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
He provides my needs.
He fills my heart with joy.
He heals my diseases. Yes, even my asthma.
He restores my soul.
He had shown many miracles in the past & in my life. I am sure He does in you too. Recall. You’ve seen it. He will do it again.
Respond in His sovereignty
As I pause in verse 32, I see the Lord’s sovereignty over all tribes and nations.
I remember these lyrics of a song entitled Ruler of Nations, “Victorious King. Savior of all. Risen in Glory. The Hope of the world. Ruler of Nations. The heavens resound. Creation adores You. And we will bow down”
I realize in this world of uncertainties, God is certain.
In this year 2020, the word positive brings negative impacts on people’s lives.
Nations have the same struggle. Kings and Governors cry out for a solution. Asking and seeking the cure in this COVID-19 Pandemic.
Why cry out when we can pause and ask Him for wisdom?
Why cry out if the only remedy is to respond in His sovereignty?
How? By submission.
Submission to His Word.
Pause in His presence…
In my life, I may see a blurry way but God leads all the way.
Maybe in your life too. When things are shaking, know that God is certain.
Recall His goodness and praise Him for who He is.
He is King.
He is in charge.
